I am going to host a little fun film festival here in town in April, and it is now open for entries!
Setup:
This will be held on an April evening in a tennis court next to my apartment. I will supply power to the area, hang bed sheets over each end of the tennis court, and project your submitted films onto them. The audience will watch from the interior of the cage. The flat barren tennis court is not very conducive to lounging and watching all night though… THAT”S WHERE THE ACTION COMES IN.
Action:
When you submit a film, you must also submit a(n) (set of) action(s) for the audience. Your action(s) can lie anywhere on the spectrum of simple, directly-commanded one-off action to an incredibly sophisticated interactive work (basically the spectrum of really lazy action submission to really complex action submission). So you can just yell at the people at the beginning of your film what they should be doing, you could whip up some sort of filmic Rauschenberg ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Sps62Sxafbs#t=31s) event if you want to, or you could design the most amazing, seamlessly integrated installation piece in which all humanity has already been performing!
Bonus points for clever uses of the environment!

- A film – created by you or just appropriated by you, max 5 minutes, for use on one or two screens, preferably has some temporal component.
- A description of the Action – simple or complex, direct or emergent, action or interaction
- How the audience will be informed of their action tasks.
